Felt Like Crying! Upper Central Abdominal Pain


Dull pain, which felt like nothing more than a bit of gas, began directly under my chest, as I drove home from work... I took a couple of Tums once arriving home.

I had some egg whites for breakfast, a Spinach salad with a grilled turkey burger for lunch and a lo-cal mozzarella cheese stick with some melon for an afternoon snack... about 3 hours prior to this episode.

Pain got progressively worse, turning into sharp, stinging pain. I couldn't do anything to refocus from the pain...I curled up in the fetal position, hoping it would subside, but only got worse.

I went to bed at 8:30, after taking some nausea meds. I have been diagnosed with GERD, but have never felt this type of intense pain. It was pretty scary!

I have a dull ache around the ascending colon area which seems to be there all day. I have had a sharp pain too in the same area which has lasted all day and all night. Mostly it's a dull ache. It's been there off and on over the last few months. I have been vegetarian for 5 months but also I drink a bottle of wine a day with my evening meal. Worried in case it's first signs of liver dezease. Blood test 5 months ago was clear. Urine test last month was normal. Have been taking clopidogrel for 18 months - stopped aspirin as it was giving me dispepsia.
