chronic stomach pain and gas
by Piper
(Phoenix, Az)
I am 25 years old. I have had stomach pain for 2 years now. Anytime I go to get checked they never have an answer and they send me home. Last Dec I was in the hospital for 4 days straight while they ran test and they told me four different things. Yet still no answer.
Sometimes the pain is from gas or from constipation.
Lately I was in so much pain I had diarreah for 3 days straight then vomiting afterwards. I lost 8 lbs in 4 days. I'm still in pain and I still don't know why and no one seems to have the answers. Tired of being in pain.
Hi Piper,
Thanks for contacting us here at abdopain.com and I am really sorry to learn about your chronic stomach pain and gas or constipation, going on for two years or more. It must make you feel really awful, that no body seems to be able to tell you what is happening to you.
Where exactly is your stomach pain? Is it on the left side, perhaps around the middle left side to the lower left side? Do you often feel bloated with the pain? What about your bowels? Do you tend to have more of diarrhoea or constipation? Have you noticed that this pain tends to come on more after eating certain types of food?
Is there any weight loss or skin rash?
From what you described above, it sounds like you probably have irritable bowel syndrome, but your doctor will need to exclude other conditions like coeliac disease.
Please see common causes of
stomach pain and gas here and see if any of those conditions resembles what you are experiencing.
Please feel free to come back to us with answers to the above questions or any other query and we will be happy to provide further help as required.
Thanks once again for using our free online resource.
